Get out of the building!

I’ve quit my job.

I’ve quit my apartment.

7:th of May I’m moving out into the Swedish forest to live and work from a tent.

I do not know for how long.

There I’m gonna code om my startup idea.

I have a laptop, battery pack, solar cells and mobile broadband.

Stay tuned..

This is so amazing and awesome! Read your list serve email. You’re my new hero! Keep posting so those of us still at our desk jobs can have a window into your cool adventure!

Very courageous of you. It is going to be great to follow your coding adventures in nature instead of in a building with artificial lighting.

My fellow engineers and I are inspired…we will be staying tuned…

    Great story!!

Dope. Keep up the good work, sometimes I literally have to set up a chair and table in the closet to focus so I can sympathize.

Keep us posted on Reddit – I’ll be looking forward to the AMA.

This is incredible. I’ve always wanted to do this. I have just started working for Red Hat on the Fedora project and my dream is to live in a cabin and code remotely. Excited to read your updates.

This is the most interesting thing I’ve seen on the net in a long time. Thanks for giving us a peek into your life.

This is such a good idea! No, seriously, at some point I considered doing something like this, but then found the idea of living in the forest too difficult for coding. Props!

One reminder though, don’t forget to talk to your customers. It might be hard to do in the forest, so get on Skype as much as you can.

    Enjoy the outdoors!

Really inspiring story. A brave choice deserve all the support we can give.
Good luck, I’ll keep an eye on you :P

This is an excellent idea. You’re living many people’s dreams. Hopefully this will give them the inspiration to go forward and do the same. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent ! I did the same 1 year ago (in france) and loved it. I thinked a lot about it to “live this way” every day but France does not have “right to nature” (maybe I am spelling it wrong”). The most difficult point was administrative ! I now live in a truck and manage my compagnie from my mobile phone (and I go in town regularly to see friends and get a high speed line when needed). I know there are other people doing it but you are the first who I hear about. I am glad to read from you and this motivate me to write again about it. I’ll follow you. Regards.

Hi Thomas – I just wanted to say I’ve been going through a similar metamorphosis lately and it’s really quite wonderful to know I’m not the only one out there. I’d love for you to check out my story as well if you have a moment…I’m not roughing it quite like you are, but I can relate to what’s going on inside and wish you the best of luck in your journey. Looking forward to the updates!
